A beautiful camellia garden welcomes visitors to Locarno, with the
Festa delle Camelie, the pre-eminent event of its type in Europe, and
second only in importance to the exhibitions in Japan, the home of this
beautiful flower. The event at Parco delle Camelie, with more than 300
species, beautifully displayed by expert gardeners, honours the science
behind the plant, which represents a real treasure in the botanic
heritage of the private and public gardens of the Locarno area.
Thousands of visitors attend annually: among them, many experts from
different European areas, schools and fans of these beautiful flowers
which have found an ideal habitat in the Lake Maggiore region. The
exhibition also features many other side-events and cultural attractions,
and of course, a rich market of flowers and books.Simply unmissable!
